This show is with Chris Heuer of <a href="http://www.socialmediaclub.com">socialmediaclub.com</a> and <a href="http://www.chrisheuer.com">chrisheuer.com</a> <p>We talk about:</p> <p>Tons of new conversations around open source right now<br /> Second anniversary of Bar Camp is soon<br /> Chris attended a facilitation training<br /> Which is what put him on to BrainJams<!--more-->  The best thing that you do to learn is to read a magazine outside your industry<br /> BrainJams was a study in interdisciplinary<br /> Social Media Club was derived from that earlier work<br /> It stemmed from a need for event context<br /> To make a nerd correlation it is sort of like a relational database - context with key<br /> What you&#39;ve done is created a social platform<br /> Seeing the value in temporary communities<br /> Sure, just like Gnomedex<br /> Making sure that there is value in presentations<br /> Setting up the learning environment<br /> Walking out on sessions at a conference in favor of the hallway conversation<br /> Taking time to make connections that you can&amp;amp;amp;#39;t make in a session<br /> <a href="http://www.chrisheuer.com/2007/08/10/stop-the-insanity-dont-call-it-conversational-marketing/">  Conversational Marketing, but it worries me</a><br /> The wrong people might co-opt it<br /> Trying to figure out the semantics<br /> Talking about it as Market Conversations, the difference is intention<br /> Intention in what sense?<br /> Well, we talked about this a bit around the Calcanis session<br /> Intention is about letting the audience know what is coming<br /> Mixing messages doesn&#39;t help intent<br /> Intention was to announce a new product<br /> Not the edification of the audience<br /> Firguring out how to create value together<br /> When working in the enterprise on the social media scale what has worked for you?<br /> The rejection by them comes from us rejecting them first<br /> Not trying to invalidate them or the structure they work in<br /> That is why the tag line for Social Media Club is &quot;If you get it.
